Closing of Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Variance Petition Public Hearing, August 19, 2020

On August 5, 2020, NHDES conducted a public hearing (utilizing the GoToWebinar platform, in accordance with the Governor’s Emergency Order) to solicit comments on the Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics variance petition. During the public hearing, NHDES extended the public comment period to receive written comments until 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2020. Due to a technical issue in NHDES’ procedural rules governing this hearing, it was necessary for NHDES to keep the hearing open until the close of the public comment period. The hearing was recessed on August 5.

Therefore, at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, NHDES will come out of recess from the public hearing, provide a brief statement as to the status of the variance petition to date, and officially close the public hearing. There will be no opportunity for additional public comments at that time since the public comment period ended at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2020. A final decision on the variance petition will be made no later than 4:00 p.m., on September 2, 2020.
