Second Technical Listening Session – Draft PFAS Soil Remediation Standards in New Hampshire
The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) is hosting a second technical listening session for stakeholders to provide input on the proposed draft Soil Remediation Standards (SRS) for the four per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) currently regulated in groundwater and drinking water: perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS), perfluorohexane sulfonic acid (PFHxS), perfluoronanonoic acid (PFNA) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA).
NHDES will present the methodology used and the draft PFAS Soil Remediation Standards (SRS) that potentially will be included in the proposed revised Env-Or 600 rules, followed by an opportunity for stakeholders to provide oral comments to NHDES, including technical opinions regarding means/methods or concerns and considerations. Pursuant to RSA 485-H:13, NHDES is required to initiate rulemaking for PFAS SRS by November 1, 2023.
